The U.S. Commission on Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) was created by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and became operational in July 1965.

The EEOC administers major federal laws prohibiting discrimination in employment *.



The U.S. federal laws prohibit discrimination in employment follows:



- Discrimination in employment based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or
